Yes, there are different types of coaches and coaching styles. Which type of coach you choose will depend on what you are trying to achieve:
Performance/Professional Coach: Works with all levels of professionals to improve and achieve a variety of goals to balance professional and personal objectives.
Executive Coach: Offered to supervisors, managers, and top leaders of an organization and designed to address the specific needs of those in leadership positions.
Career Coach: Focusing on guiding individuals seeking career direction, switching careers, or identifying skills for stepping up the career ladder.
Life/personal Coach: Primarily focused on the individual and taking the client on an introspective journey often with the goal of restoring balance.
Business Coach: This type of coaching focuses on helping entrepreneurs and business owners to better manage their business.
Group/Team Coach: With group coaching, individuals, who may not know each other, come together to work on common goals. The group provides for an opportunity to work with others who face similar barriers and guided by the coach can therefore probe for various perspectives on how to resolve these barriers to get to desired targets.
With team coaching the group consists of a group of individuals who either work together or need to interact with each other and who may be facing common barriers that diminish the team’s effectiveness. In these situations, the coach and team agree on the goal to be targeted and together work to establish coaching strategies to achieve these goals.

FRC offers Performance/professional, executive, and career coaching for individuals as well as working with groups or teams to achieve group goals.
-
Before engaging in a coaching relationship, the coach offers a free consultation to explore what you, as the client wants to achieve from coaching. Together you can evaluate what is the most suitable pathway.
-
Sometimes clients know precisely what they need from coaching and sometimes it becomes part of the coaching session; exploring one or more areas that the client wants to address is often part of the coaching journey.
-
That is part of the discovery that happens during the coaching process. The more the client and coach engage and work through the process there is the possibility that other needs come to the surface. That is why the coach and client relationship is so important because it is a journey of exploration and discovery.
-
That will depend on the type of agreement you have between you and the coach. Most coaching sessions are typically an hour in length but could be longer depending on what you and the coach are working on.
-
Again, that will depend on what has been stated in the agreement between the coach and the client. Typical coaching sessions can be every week, every other week, or once per month.
-
The length of time will be discussed and agreed upon after discussing your needs with the coach. FRC recommends that clients commit to a minimum of six sessions. For leadership coaching and any form of professional development three to six months or more are typical.
-
The price of coaching will vary depending on the type of coaching, the length of coaching, and the coach’s level of expertise and resources and tools used. During the free discovery session, FRC will recommend one of its coaching packages, or will create a custom package based on your needs.
